35-Yard RORO Skip Hire in Glasgow
Extra capacity for light, bulky waste on Glasgow commercial and construction sites.

The 35-yard roll-on roll-off container sits between the 30 and 40-yard sizes, giving extra room for large quantities of light, bulky waste. It suits commercial strip-outs, factory clear-outs and construction sites with a steady flow of packaging and timber.
Skips Glasgow arranges RORO hire through licensed local partners across Glasgow and surrounding towns. Not every partner stocks every size, so availability of a 35-yard container is subject to confirmation for your site. If it is not available, we will suggest the nearest suitable alternative. Every collection is covered by a waste transfer note, and site access is checked before delivery. It is normally placed on private land such as yards and compounds.

When a 35-yard container fits
A 35-yard RORO is a good fit where a 30-yard container would need exchanging too often, but space or the volume of waste does not justify the largest size. It is used for warehouse and factory clear-outs on industrial estates, office floor strip-outs and large refurbishments.
Like the other large RORO sizes, it is for light waste only. Rubble, soil and concrete must not go in, as the load would quickly exceed safe and legal weights. For heavier material, choose a 20-yard RORO.
Access for a hook-loader lorry
RORO containers are delivered on hook-loader lorries, which pull the container onto the vehicle and slide it off again on site. The lorry needs a wide, firm and level approach, room to line up behind the placement position and clear space with no low cables, branches or canopies overhead.
In practice that means yards, car parks, industrial units and construction compounds rather than residential streets. If you are unsure whether your site works, send us photos or a site plan and the local partner will check before delivery.
Get the most from each lift
Dismantle furniture and racking, flatten boxes and fill voids so the container is used efficiently. Keep special waste, electricals and upholstered seating out – they need separate collection. Every load is covered by a waste transfer note for your records. If you have regular volumes, exchanges can be booked on request or scheduled, subject to availability. Separate containers for cardboard or timber can also help businesses meet Scottish requirements to separate dry recyclables. Tell us your expected volumes so the partner can plan lifts.

35-Yard RORO Skip – your questions answered
Can’t see your question? Call 0333 121 1056 or send us a message.
Is a 35-yard RORO always available in Glasgow?
No. Availability depends on the local partner serving your site and is subject to confirmation. If this size is not available, we will suggest a 30 or 40-yard alternative where suitable.
What waste is it best for?
Light, bulky waste such as packaging, timber, racking, partitioning and strip-out materials. It is not suitable for heavy waste like rubble or soil. For heavier material, choose a 20-yard RORO within its weight limit.
How much space does it need?
A wide, firm, level area for the container plus room for the hook-loader lorry to line up and manoeuvre, with no low overhead obstructions. Send photos and we will check with the partner.
Can I mix waste types?
Light mixed waste is fine, but special waste, electricals, upholstered seating and plasterboard must be kept out. See what can go in a skip. Ask us about separate collection.
