Commercial Wheelie Bin Hire in Glasgow
Scheduled bin collections for Glasgow shops, offices, restaurants and industrial units, arranged through our network of licensed local waste partners.

Every Glasgow business needs a reliable way to get rid of its everyday waste. Whether you run a café in Finnieston, a bar in the Merchant City, an office near Blythswood Square or a unit on the Hillington estate, a regular commercial bin collection keeps your premises tidy and your paperwork in order.
Skips Glasgow arranges wheelie bin hire and scheduled uplifts through Waste Cloud’s network of licensed local partners. You choose the bin sizes and waste streams that suit your premises, agree a collection frequency, and the partner covering your area handles the rest.
From a single 240-litre bin for a small shop to a bank of 1,100-litre containers behind a busy restaurant, we can help you put together a sensible set-up. Call 0333 121 1056 or use the quote form on this page.

Separating waste: what Scottish law expects
Under the Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012, businesses must present dry recyclables – paper, card, plastics, metals and glass – for separate collection rather than mixing them with general waste. Glass must be kept apart from other recyclables, so it is normally collected in its own bin. Food businesses producing more than 5kg of food waste a week must also have it collected separately.
In practice that usually means a general waste bin, a mixed recycling bin, and glass or food bins where needed. Our partners can help you work out the right combination for your premises.
Bins that fit Glasgow premises
Space is often the deciding factor. City-centre shops and tenement-level cafés may only have a back lane or a small yard, while units in Queenslie or Cambuslang Investment Park usually have room for larger four-wheeled containers. A few practical points to consider:
- Where the bins will be stored between uplifts, and whether that area is secure
- Whether the collection vehicle can reach them, particularly in narrow lanes
- How much waste you produce in a typical week, including busy periods
Our 660-litre and 1,100-litre bins suit higher volumes; smaller bins are easier to wheel out for collection.
Licensed partners and proper paperwork
Every business has a Duty of Care for the waste it produces. That means using a registered waste carrier and keeping a waste transfer note for at least two years. For regular collections a single annual transfer note normally covers the arrangement.
Skips Glasgow is a trading style of Waste Cloud Ltd, SEPA waste carrier registration WCR/R/3008642. The local partner collecting your bins is licensed for the work and provides the documentation you need. For a fuller look at your obligations, see our page on waste management for businesses.

Which areas of Glasgow do you cover for commercial bins?
Collections are arranged across Glasgow and surrounding areas, from the city centre and West End to the Southside and East End, as well as neighbouring towns such as Paisley, Clydebank and Rutherglen. Availability depends on the partner routes serving your postcode, so let us know your address when you ask for a quote.
How often will my bins be collected?
Collection frequency is agreed with you when you set up the service and depends on how much waste you produce. Some businesses need several uplifts a week, others only fortnightly. If your volumes change, for example over the festive period, the schedule or number of bins can usually be adjusted.
Do I have to separate my business waste in Scotland?
Yes. The Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012 require businesses to separate dry recyclables from general waste, with glass kept separate, and food businesses producing over 5kg of food waste a week must have it collected separately. A suitable set of bins makes this straightforward.
Can I keep my bins on the street?
Commercial bins should be stored on your own premises, in a yard, back court or bin store, and only put out for collection. Leaving trade bins on the pavement can cause obstructions and complaints. If storage is tight, talk to us about smaller bins with more frequent uplifts.
How do I get a quote?
Call 0333 121 1056 or fill in the quote form on our contact page. Tell us your business type, address, the waste you produce and roughly how much, and we will pass the details to a licensed local partner.
